What it is
The Vineyard patio turns into Hillier's friendliest outdoor cinema every Friday through summer. A big screen goes up against the cellar wall. Blankets cover the lavender lawn. The kitchen fires hot dogs, wood-fired pizzas, and slushies. Movies start when the sun finishes its job — usually around 8:45pm in June, closer to 8:00pm by Labour Day.
What to bring
- A blanket or a folding chair (we have a stack if you forgot)
- Layers — Hillier evenings get cool
- Bug spray, just in case
- The kids. The dog. The cousins visiting from Quebec.
What's on the menu
Full Vineyard menu runs through showtime. Hot dogs, ceviche bowls, garden popcorn, whipped feta — all built to eat on a blanket without cutlery. Wine by the glass, slushies by the bucket, and a few non-alcoholic patio drinks for the under-19 crowd.
Movie picks
We program family-friendly Fridays — modern animated features, '80s classics the parents grew up with, summer crowd-pleasers. The schedule lands month-by-month on Instagram and at the bar. Bring requests.
Logistics
Strollers welcome. Dogs welcome on leash. Bathrooms inside the cellar. Free parking on-site. No reservations — first-come for blanket real estate. Movies cancel for thunderstorms (we'll post by 5pm on Instagram).
