Cold, wine-based, served from the dispensers next to the patio bar. $11 regular, $7.50 during Apres Beach happy hour (starting June 11). The Prince Edward County wine slushie originated here, and we still pour the most of them.
The Wine Slushie at Traynor Family Vineyard
If you have been to Prince Edward County in summer, you have probably had one. If you have not, here is the short version: two dispensers, one red, one yellow, sitting next to our patio bar. Wine-based slushies. $11 a pour. Drink them on the Vineyard Patio, under the lavender hammocks, or in the shade of the Sail Garden. Best with a hot dog.
We started pouring wine slushies because PEC summers are hot, the patio is busy, and a great wine flight is not always what you want at 3pm in July. A slushie is. We were among the first wineries in the County to put them on the menu, and they have become one of our signature offerings.
What is in a Traynor Wine Slushie?
Real wine - usually a rose, a piquette, or a light sparkling - blended with fresh juice and frozen to slushy texture. The blend rotates through the season depending on what we have pouring. ABV usually lands around 6-8% per serving - lower than a glass of wine, higher than a cooler. Cold enough to give you brain freeze if you sip too fast.
All of our wines are 100% vegan - no animal-derived fining agents - so the slushies are vegan too. Gluten-free. No dairy.

When We Pour
- Daily 11am-5pm from May 13 through September 30, 2026 - regular price $11
- Available across all five patios and indoors in the Cellar Tasting Room
- Apres Beach happy hour: Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays from 4-7pm - slushies drop to $7.50. Apres Beach starts June 11, 2026 (a month later than usual due to staffing and weather).
The slushies stay on tap as long as the weather is patio weather. If it is October and warm, we usually still have them. If it is December, we do not. Call ahead if you are travelling specifically for them.
For Families and Designated Drivers
Same machine, same slushy texture, no alcohol. Just ask your server for a non-alcoholic juice slushie. They are a hit with kids on the patio, designated drivers, anyone who is pregnant, and adults who just want something cold without the alcohol.
We have a kids play area on site and our patios are family-friendly. More on our family-friendly setup.

The Slushy Party for 10
For bridal parties, bachelorettes, and milestone birthday groups, we offer a dedicated Wine Slushy and Charcuterie Escape: $150 for a party of 10, including:

Where Else in Ontario Can You Get Wine Slushies?
Wine slushies have become a staple of Ontario wine country over the last few summers. Here is the honest landscape:
- In Prince Edward County: Hinterland Wine Company in Hillier also serves slushies during the warm months. Their program leans sparkling-forward, ours leans rose-and-piquette. Two different styles, both worth trying if you are slushy-touring the County.
- In Niagara: Pondview Estate Winery and Ashley Lynn Winery both pour slushies in summer. The Niagara wineries lean toward Riesling and ice-wine slushies.
- Toronto: A few wine bars and bottle shops occasionally pour wine slushies seasonally, but consistent slushy programs are still mostly a winery thing.
We are proud to be the longest-running slushy program in Prince Edward County and one of the early adopters in Ontario. If you want to taste the difference, come visit and try ours.
Wine Slushie FAQs
Are wine slushies just slush puppies with wine?
Not quite. We start with real wine, blend it with fresh juice, and run it through a commercial slushy machine. The wine character comes through - it is not just a sugary slushy with alcohol tacked on.
How strong are they?
Around 6-8% ABV per serving. Lower than a glass of wine, higher than a cooler. Easy to drink in the heat.
Are wine slushies vegan?
Yes. All Traynor wines are 100% vegan, and our slushies are made from our wines and juice. No animal-derived fining agents anywhere in the supply chain.
Are they gluten-free?
Yes.
Can I bring a slushy to-go?
By Ontario law, no - alcoholic beverages cannot leave the licensed premises. But you can buy bottles to take home and make your own. Plus our Slushy Party experience comes with a 4L jug to drink on-site with your group.
Do you sell a wine-slushy mix kit?
Not yet. Stay tuned.
