It’s starting to get colder and sometimes we need a quick and delicious pick me up cocktail to start the weekend right. The Dasher Express is a modern take on the Espresso Martini, created by the famous late bartender Dick Bradsell, as a request from a British top model in his London bar in 1983.
Ingredients:
- .5 oz Traynor’s Haberdasher Vermouth
- 1 oz Premium Vodka
- 1 oz Espresso Coffee
- .5 oz Maple Syrup
- Dark Chocolate Shavings
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the coffee beforehand and let it chill
Step 2: Fill your shaker with lots of ice
Step 3: Pour the vermouth, vodka, coffee and maple syrup into the shaker
Step 4: Shake to mix all of the ingredients together until chilled and frothy
Step 5: Strain ingredients into a coupe glass
Step 6: Shave the dark chocolate right on top of the drink for garnish
Step 7: Reward yourself with a sip — enjoy!
The coffee, maple syrup and dark chocolate pairs well with the complex flavour profile of the Haberdasher Vermouth without overpowering its delicate herbal components such as sage, cedar and wormwood. Who knew this combination could be this refreshing?!
We want to see how you’re getting creative with our wines and vermouth — be sure to tag us @traynorvineyard so we can share. Cheers!
